Chocolate Strudel

Chocolate cake with cinnamon strudel topping: 

Strudel - 1/2 c. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. flour, 2 tsp. cinnamon, 2 tbsp. melted butter. Cake: 1/4 c. sugar, 1 cup Traveler's chocolate, 1/4 c. shortening, 1 c. flour, 1 egg, 1/2 c. milk, 2 tsp. baking powder - 

Bake at 375 (strudel on top of batter) about 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

This is a very rich and dense cake. It was a very happy way to end the evening. After spending time with the horses, trying to teach the duck to like fish (she keeps throwing them to the side - she really likes night crawlers), fishing for bass, trying to keep the dogs from chasing the rabbits, and getting ready for May day. The chocolate cake, warm honey tea, and Sense and Sensibility really helped unwind the nerves.
