Mother's Day Chocolate Lemon Cake

Mother's Day. What beautiful day! The sky is bright and the birds are singing and we are outside enjoying the day. For a treat I thought.... lemon.

I made chocolate cake with Traveler's chocolate. Dusted it liberally with powdered sugar and then pour a chocolate lemon glaze on top. Serving it with fresh blueberries and strawberries.


Traveler's Cake: 1 1/2 cup Traveler's chocolate, one egg, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup milk, 1 tsp baking powder. Bake at 350 degrees

Glaze: 1/2 cup Traveler's chocolate, 2 Tbsp lemon zest (rind), 2 Tbsp lemon juice, 2 Tbsp water. Heat in microwave for 20 seconds. Stir. Let rest for 5 minutes and pour onto cake (over the powdered sugar).
